Investing 101 in 2020
With Sammy Haddad
Learn the basics of investing by exploring different financial instruments and the risks associated with each of them. Engage in a conversation about financial goals and willingness to take on risk. We will also cover the importance of diversification and how to think about an overall portfolio. Lastly, we will evaluate different ways to execute and manage investments, both large and small.
Mr. Haddad runs a wealth management firm and develops strategies and structures portfolios to meet financial objectives of high net worth families. He began his career at Republic National Bank in a program designed by Edmond Safra to train the next generation of leadership for the bank. Mr. Haddad then grew a clothing business, expanding operations and increasing profitability and went on to attend Columbia Business School where he received his MBA in a program mentored by Warren Buffet. He spent years before and after the financial crisis identifying investment opportunities in the residential mortgage backed securities market. Most recently, he was an executive vice president and senior portfolio manager after nine years at Morgan Stanley.
Mr. Haddad is a graduate of Hillel Yeshiva High School. He earned his undergraduate degrees in Finance and Judaic Studies at Yeshivah University. He and his wife now live in Brooklyn and are the proud parents of four children. They are all actively involved in community organizations and enjoy giving back whenever they can.
